"Green Day has become the first band to offer collectible branded CD-Recordable discs to store Green Day music and media files. The five CD-Rs, available online at greendaymusic.com for $7.99, feature classic, full-color artwork from Green Day albums Dookie, Nimrod, Warning, and the critically, acclaimed new album American Idiot, as well as a rare photo of the band. A coordinated color slimline case is included with each CD-R."

i can imagine them brainstorming this one up now

"if people are willing to pay $20 for one cd with a few good tracks, i bet they'd pay half for 5 discs with no tracks!"

lol, JSK.

So...will consumers actually be able to use these CD-R's for their "intended" purpose or is this just a $7.99 license to look at the artwork?

I say bah! to Greenday.
I used to like them until they covered "I fought the law" for the RIAA commercials. They should make up their minds, or actually say something.
