Do you own an ipod? Do you hate being forced to use Apple's itunes software? Wouldn't life be easier if you could just copy a tiny exe onto your ipod and be able to add all kinds of files to your library, without even having the ipod software installed? Just think, you take your ipod to your friends who doesn't have itunes. You plug it into his computer, run the little exe you previously copied to it, Up comes your libraries, now you and your friend can swap some tunes! :)

"Wouldn't life be easier if you could just copy a tiny exe onto your ipod...?"
Not if you own a Mac. A tiny exe would be useless. If you use Windows, it seems like another invitation for virus writers.
Seems much, much easier to just use a flash drive. |

i bet it would make stealing easier.
it would probably make distribution easier
it sort of reminds me of mytunes redux (which hasn't worked since itunes went to 7.0.1)
cheers,

I think they should protect it, so that it prevents people from illicitly swapping it with another person. (However, I do think that DRM has gone too far and I think that I should do whatever I want to do with my music...as long as I don't give copies away to anyone), but I think that this program could be useful for extra space, especially for high-capacity iPods, so that I can use it as a replacement of my flash drive, in case my flash drives dies out on me. |

Only if it does NOT prevent the perfectly legal sharing of music which has a Creative Commons license.

If it was your music, you could do whatever you wanted with it. If it's my music, I can give copies away to as many people as I want. And so can you. |

I love that word "illicitly". It make me feel so dirty when I am listening to music.
Any amount of DRM is too much. There is a good article in BusinessWeek about "stolen" files being worth more than "legitimate" files with DRM.

When you put lock on your product your digital product you decrease it's value. Yet another discrepancy between the digital world and the physical world. |
