By the way I disagree that it means Napster loses their trademark. It is also free publicity for Napster. Does it have napster.com on the products?
Napster can if they wish leave it be (grant them permission) and enjoy a band endorsement which is probably a good idea in light of all that is happening.

No one is getting sued yet... Offspring is violating NAPSTER copyrights.. which means Napster should be suing the Offspring and in fact the Offspring is forcing them to because the law says that if they don't they can lose the napster trademark. |

No no.. Napster has NOT sued anyone yet. The point the author of the article was making is that Napster must ACT or the Napster trademark will be legally undefendable. They don't have to SUE the Offspring.. they could just call 'em and say 'you have permission.' |

At first, when Napster followed Metallica's orders to ban hundreds of thousands of people, I thought, hey, they've gotta do what they've gotta do. Now, the table is turned. All Napster has to do is give a thumbs up to The Offspring. They get free advertising, another band backing them, and they prove that actions speak louder than words.
Do they do this? Fuck no! I'm beginning to see the clear truth here - Napster is made up of HYPOCRITES! Nobody is going to back hypocrites, no matter if their original purpose is justified or not.
Music is free. Napster started this revolution (in a sense), but talk is cheap. They are going to go down in the most embarrasing way. It must be children running that operation. |

I have to give it to offspring...they found a way to make themselves more known and perhaps mess up napster at the sametime. However I don't think napster will go anytime soon, nor do the majority of people want them to. :) |

Don't get me wrong—I've downloaded a lot of songs from Napster I've always wished I've had but would NEVER shell out $15+ for an entire album of lard.
But I'm talking about albums that would never have received my $. I've never really been a fan of The Offspring, but I've always been impressed with their sense of humor |

for you guys who cant log in to napser there is a hack out there that will tweak your reg settings so that you can log back in, with a NEW screenname. go to any search engine and use the keywords "napster crack", thats how i found it. by the way Napster isnt greedy, Metalica is thats the differnce. as for Dre. well his comment taking food out of his babies mouth kinda is lame, after it would seem if one small group like napster could take food out of his babies mouth then he needs to worry if that many people like him enough to buy his shitty rap crap at all. |
