Hmm, are they still around? Aren't they waiting tables somewhere yet?
Besides, why would this bother them? I've said it over and over again: they oughtta be happy that someone is showing an interest. |

A *lot* of people give groups like the Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys, N*SYNC, etc. a hard time because they don't write their own music, play instruments, come "packaged" etc. etc. But you must admit when MILLIONS of people around the world are buying their albums, they must be doing something right.

Ug.... everyone says napster did it.... Does napster have arms a legs and can it type and steal cds?...... well.... maybe.... errr... i mean NO! lol ;P
Someone (a human) had to get it and put it up...
Hell, who knows... Maybe Spiffice Spice or Dopey Spice put it on themselves?
Spice girls suck, so it aint no problem ;P |

to my knowledge, i thought they broke up after some huge fight they had about a few years ago. is it the same people or are they soem new members?
anyway, people shouldnt be blaming napster. they should be blaming the record labels and the corporations/companies that leak these tracks out. i mean, why put it online of ANY place they could have decided to place them? pretty stupid if you ask me.

Well.. I would point the finger at the record company who send out promotional CDs, and the people who rip those CDs who are in the IRC release groups.
Just a thought. |

Nope, I give all the credit to thier produces and studio techs.
And thier marketing people.
But you know, they are put under a lot.
Can't take that away. |

Okay, lets make a list of who gets promo cds before they are released:
Radio Stations
Stores (so they could sell em)
Promos to get people to buy it
Music TV to reccomend it
Am I mising anyone? |

People in the company.
Maybe friends of people in the company.
The singers, and whoever they give them to?
Hmm. I think.

This whole idiotic story is about 50% wrong. (including every comment added here).
Firstly, RealNetworks wanted to pick the best 4 tracks. So Virgin Records uploaded the whole album (actually, except the best track, which was obtained later).
It doesn't bother the Girls, because they don't even know about it yet.
I know plenty of people who like the Spice Girls. People of all ages like them (which is an accomplishment in itself).
Obviously, if the Spice Girls had split up, you wouldn't have heard the end of it. The media would've constantly gloated and rehashed the story. Use some brainpower and read the stories correctly. And don't pay any attention to the tabloids.
BTW, I agree with the stuff about Napster. Napster isn't to blame, just as spicenews.com isn't to blame for finding the tracks and decoding them.
There will be more information later, in a press release from the SG Defenders (the fan organisation, which I help run). |

Oh c'mon, if the Spice Girls had broken up, not only would hardly anyone notice at this point, but there'd be 10 more girl groups set up by the labels in another cattle-call audition to take their place.
Maybe the next group will have at least known each other before the cattle are in place. |

Hmm, Heidi, I don't think _I_ ride them because of those reasons you've given. After all, as you know, I'm the 1st person to stand up for these groups when they're dissed. MANY of the artists I admire have those qualities you listed as part of their formulas (i.e., many country artists).
I think a big difference is that many admirable artists w/this formula have been heard by someone at a label, and are then asked to be seen, so that the label can make sure that they have "the look." With these teen idols, they show up for an audition, are told, "Hey, you look good; now go over to the mic and let's see how you sound." If they like what they hear, they then tell them to go stand w/the other chosen lookers to make sure they all look good together. It's not like they grew up together or were struggling performers on some stage somewhere before they were hand-picked. This is where my resentment lies. The whole of their success has been spoon-fed to us!!! I don't deny that a lot of the music they've created can be enjoyable to some extent, but let's face it, most of the music, if not all, would have been sung by another artist (probably w/the same name) had these good-lookin' people stayed home the day of the audition. It's no different from a Broadway casting. |

This is nothing new. I downloaded the Limp Bizkit CD 3 weeks early from napster, as well as Eminem, Shawn Mullins, the new Offspring CD etc.... CD's will be on napster the second they get to radio stations... or even before if there is a leak on the inside.... PEOPLE WANT INFORMATION TO BE FREE.. that's the way it goes :)

spice girls are like a small elf in a field... Penis exposed, free to nature. They should not hold back their artistic ability like an elephant holding his trunk. They should let their scrotums hang free in the wind and hear the wrinkly skin slapp their thighs...
Wait a minute, did the elf himself steal the tracks??? |

Well. Okay.
A manufactured pop group cannot break up. They just get fired or quit.
Bands break up, pop groups disolve.
They lost a member or two, big deal, they are putting out another shrink wrapped product.
