MP3.com Settles Suit for $53.4 Millon

Now that Universal is settled, Ladies and gentlemen, let the my.mp3.com games begin again soon.

While the complete details are not clear yet, it is being reported that MP3.com has indeed settled it’s copyright lawsuit by paying the pied piper that is Universal a reported $53.4 million in damages. The amount paid is a lot of money, but quite a bit less then what could have been awarded to Universal if the settlement was not reached.

We will bring you the details on this information, and let you know when MP3.com intends to reactivate it’s now fabled my.mp3.com service.

Props to fellow DMusic Network member Frawgster for dropping knowledge on this as soon as it was made available.

I am sure it will be - much respect due to Sr. Robertson for negotiating a deal with Universal, which is ABSOLUTELY amazing.

I am pretty sure playing the "work for hire" card helped them out alot too in negotiations ;)

(Patting my own back) ;-) Just kidding ;-)

But hey, don't forget to thank my bosses for not paying enough attention to what I actually do when I'm at work. :-)
