Free Music from Dave Matthews Band

Dave Matthews Band announced that they are offering "I Did it", a new song from thier upcoming album "Everyday" for free online from the band's website.

The song is available as a download in 128K MP3 or Liquid Audio format, and also can be streamed in Real Audio or Windows Media format at 56K.

The new album Everyday is due out on February 27, 2001. Preorders for the album are being accepted on MusicToday.com.

that's decent of them.
seems to be a move made by a lot of bands these days.
finally realizing the potential of net promotion it seems.

the question is, for how long will this tactic remain effective?

advance radio singles sell the physical [cds] discs to an extent, but even they're becoming the norm.

hmm ... hmm ... this is all so new ... how will it pan out ... ?
