AOLTW Picks Head of Music Group
Posted by Mike Darrah on January 17, 2001 at 10:28 AM   (printer friendly)

The new mega-merger monster that is AOL/Time Warner have announced that they have selected Kevin Conroy, a former BMG Entertainment executive, to head up the music group of AOL.

AOL, which had previously acquired Nullsoft (Winamp, ShoutCast, ect..) and Spinner will take these companies, along with the AOL Music Channel and mold their digital music future with them.

It is important to note, that at least for the time, AOLTW will be keeping the supervision of the Warner Music Group separate from the management of the AOL Music Group.

It is almost certain however, that in the future that the two will work together to form some sort of digital music distribution system.

i think they should just leave nullsoft and spinner pretty much how it is. seems that everything AOL touches, it gets corrupt in some way or another.
