Connecting dmusic with Qui Tam Team
Qui Tam Team needs your music!
Dmusic artists have an opportunity for free publicity when offering lyrics to Qui Tam Team. We are searching for lyrics relating to whistleblowing and/or false claims made by big companies. Our mission is to inform the public, specifically our audience, of the benefits to blowing-the-whistle on any company, agency, or organization falsely spending resources, off-label marketing, etc.
As a starting point we intend to create a weekly blog post including a song, or an excerpt, with lyrics relating to Qui Tam topics.
Topics may include:
- Cracking down on companies spending government funds for personal growth
- Having confidence to come forward after witnessing mis-behavior in the work place
- Pharmaceutical companies falsely marketing new medication (i.e. marketing a new cancer drug as a pain killer for non-cancer patients)
- The personal consequences of participating in such behavior or false marketing
- The affects of falling into prescription medication addiction
- Petitioning the government to keep a closer eye on big companies
- Things society can do to help change the face of illegal marketing and spending (i.e. whistleblowing or being a relator)
We will pick a song based on how we can interpret the lyrics to relate to Qui Tam topics on the blog, website, Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking sites linked to Qui Tam Team. If you, the artist, are concerned about how your song will be interpreted please feel free to include a brief description, in your e-mail, about the message you are trying to convey.

Qui tam (Black's Law Dictionary pronunciation: kwày tæm) is an abbreviation from the Latin "qui tam pro domino rege quam pro sic ipso in hoc parte sequitur" meaning "who as well for the king as for himself sues in this matter."
Black's Law Dictionary defines a qui tam action as "an action brought by an informer, under a statute which establishes a penalty for the commission or omission of a certain act, and provides that the same shall be recoverable in a civil action, part of the penalty to go to any person who will bring such action and the remainder to the state or some other institution."
Qui tam is a provision of the Federal Civil False Claims Act that allows private citizens to file a lawsuit in the name of the U.S. Government charging fraud by government contractors and others who receive or use government funds, and share in any money recovered.
This unique law was enacted by Congress in order to effectively identify and prosecute government procurement and program fraud and recover revenue lost as a result of the fraud.
The qui tam provision has had the effect of privatizing government legal remedies by allowing private citizens to act as "private attorneys general" in the effort to prosecute government procurement and program fraud. Although most of the early successes in qui tam actions have been against defense contractors, more and more actions are being filed that involve other governmental agencies such as Health and Human Services, Environment, Energy, Education, NASA, Agriculture and Transportation. U.S. recoveries for qui tam cases, as of the end of 2003, has totaled $7.8 billion. During the same period, relator shares, as a result of the recoveries, has totaled $1.3 billion. |

the qui tam key tam as in tammy organization is backackwards but we like it it's a foozball organization that just keeps delivering foozballs! why is this we don't know but it hurts
just sew people for malpractice! malpractice hurts malpractice is when one sues over another's fault government funds are out of whack people's funds are out of whack coporate funds are out of whack! and i hurt! fuck the riaa and the assholes too |
