Today marks the day that Yahoo! Inc. has officially launched their new media Player. Rightfully called the Yahoo! Player, it provides users with access to stream and download MP3s, use video capabilities, access radio stations, and an even offers an integrated Web browser. The busy search engine company has also unveiled an enhanced version of Yahoo! Radio, which gives visitors access to hundreds of broadcast and Internet radio stations.

"Yahoo! Player gives consumers on Yahoo! Entertainment, including Yahoo! Music, a simplified experience when enjoying their favorite video and digital music files. The Yahoo! Player supports Yahoo! Music's strategy of being the one place anyone needs to go to find, learn about, listen to, or communicate with others about music. We will continue to develop and expand the Yahoo! Player as the easiest way for Yahoo! users to enjoy their music and entertainment," said Matt Rightmire of Yahoo! Inc. in a press release.

Windows 95/98/NT/2000 and Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher are required for the player. It is also recommended that you have 200-MHz Pentium or higher and an 800x600 16-bit color display. Not to be outdone by other media players, Yahoo! Player is also fully customizable and offers the ability to change skins.
