  • Participate in a DRM-cracking community, which will turn DRM obsolete.

  • Support the Fair Use Act by sending a letter to your representative via EFF.

  • If you are an artist leave your comments about the RIAA collective and your troubles with them.

  • Spread the word: Telleveryone you know that the RIAA is a bad business by starting a blog.

  • Support your local independent musicians, go see them perform and buy their CDs or tapes. Make sure they know about your support of them and not the RIAA.

  • Tell your music store you are not buying RIAA Member music in August and why.

  • Listen to music you already own, the radio, or online broadcasts - just don't give the Evil Empire your money.

  • Download peer 2 peer file sharing software such as eDonkey, Kazaa, Limewire, or one of the many others available, and seek out free music.

  • Write your Congressman and State Senator to let them know that you as a music consumer want to be able to access the music you already own anywhere anytime without additional charges.
